Marble-look bath with pebble mosaic wet area
A bathroom with marble-look wall tile, a pebble mosaic floor under the tub and shower, and dark tile in the dry area.
About this bathroom
Two wide photos show this bathroom from opposite sides. Large white-and-gray marble-look tile covers the shower and bath walls. A rounded, multicolor pebble mosaic covers the floor of the wet area, and a white freestanding soaking tub sits right on it.
The walkway in front of the wood-toned double vanity is dark rectangular tile, so the room splits into two clear zones: small pebbles where it gets wet, larger dark tile where you walk. A low shower wall separates the shower without closing it off, and a strip of the same mosaic caps its top. Black shower fittings, dark vanity hardware and white shutters finish the room.
Pebble mosaic works well on a wet-area floor because all those grout joints give your feet grip. On a similar job, we waterproof the whole wet zone, slope it to the drain and use a grout that fills the deep joints between pebbles. Where the mosaic meets the dark tile, we set both floors at the same height so there's no lip to trip on.
