Styling chairs on a glossy white veined floor

About this salon floor

This floor is in a salon styling area. It's large square white tile with a high gloss and broad, irregular gray veining, with some warmer beige tones mixed in. The tile is set in a straight grid with narrow, visible grout lines, and the veining changes from tile to tile.

Taupe styling chairs on square metal bases line up along pale wood stations, and the chairs, bases and ceiling lights all reflect in the polish. Black-and-white slat panels on the wall behind add a strong vertical line above the loose veining. The three photos go from a pair of chairs, to the full row, to a low view across the floor.

A glossy floor shows everything: uneven tile edges, crooked joints and rough cuts around fixed bases. For a salon or shop floor like this, we flatten the slab before setting, use a leveling system on the large tiles, and plan the grid so chair bases land on full tiles where we can. We also go over slip resistance with you, since a polished surface can get slick when it's wet.
